BGO Chief Commissioner

I am writing to you all to encourage you to think about whether you would like to apply for the role of BGO Chief Commissioner as my five years in the role will come to an end on 31st August.

It has been a total privilege being the BGO Chief Commissioner and I have had the most amazing time guiding alongside you all. You are so inspiring, dedicated and prepared to go that extra mile which means that guiding in BGO continues to offer fantastic opportunities, great challenges and fun for all. I am proud that we have more BGO volunteers holding advisor and executive roles than ever before and that many of these roles are held by young BGO women. I have enjoyed working with HQ to ensure that BGO is considered in policies and decision making and have done my best to get BGO members involved in national task and finish groups so that our voice is heard. While it has sometimes been challenging - for example managing the region through the pandemic - it has been an honour to have held the role and to have met so many of you along with 'your' girls and young women either in person or via zoom. BGO is the best region (no I'm not biased at all !!) and has amazing talent.

Please find attached the official application pack if you'd like to apply but also if you'd like to nominate a volunteer within BGO. You don't have to have been a commissioner to apply. If, due to your professional life you have the skills, abilities and qualities described in the pack and your volunteering within BGO feeds your passion for guiding, then you could be the next BGO Chief Commissioner!

If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to get in touch.
