Friends have an Annual meeting, to which all members are invited. Formal business includes reports from the Commissioner for BGIFC and the Chair of Friends, adoption of the Annual accounts and there is usually a guest speaker.
The 2017 AGM was held at St Hilda’s College, Oxford; a lovely sunny day with many Friends taking the opportunity to stay for the weekend, enjoying Oxford during the day and meeting for supper both Friday and Saturday evening. We look forward to holding a similar event in the UK for 2018; Note the date for the diary -
During 2017 Friends will be providing financial support to Challenge 17, and are pleased to help two guides from Nicosia attend the National Scout and Guide Orchestra in Birmingham in summer 17.
The Friends Day at Challenge 17 is Thursday 27 July. The camp is at PGL Liddington (Swindon) just off junction 15 of the M4. All Friends are very welcome and this a lovely opportunity to catch up with friends, meet girls and leaders at camp and to meet Diane Thomas in her new role as Commissioner for BGIFC. Very informal, meeting with a bring your own picnic lunch, and tea later in the afternoon. – please contact Francine or Jane Sheridan to confirm attendance.
The new BGIFC Notelet cards produced by Friends will be launched at Challenge 17. For those unable to attend and purchase, cards will be available through the website from August 17.
